Who We Are – The Voice of Haiti
“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”
—Martin Luther King, Jr., 1929–1968

Founded by filmmaker/social activist James M. Felter, and Haitian-American businessman/educator Eddy Remy, Vwa Ayiti is Kreyòl for “The Voice of Haiti.”

Vwa Ayiti funds and promotes environmentally friendly, self-sustaining community development projects in Haiti. We are also a conduit for other organizations, individuals, experts and resources that help meet the needs of community initiatives.

In December 2005, we began pilot projects in the villages of Labadi and Bod Mer Limbè. Vwa Ayiti trained and helped organize a 13-member Local Executive Committee made up of men and women ranging in age from 19 to 67 years old.  The Committee is non-denominational and many different beliefs systems, but shares one common vision: to return Haiti to a self-sustaining natural paradise. The Committee now administers and manages Labadi’s sanitation, water purification, and health initiatives.

While Vwa Ayiti is working together with the Haitian government, organizations and other NGOs to physically rebuild Haiti, we are also providing individuals and groups opportunities to utilize their business and management training.  With a little help, the Haitian people can and will create a brilliant future!
